My Firstever Bellabox

I've been interested in Bellabox ever since last year when I came across it in a Singaorean blog.  It's not until last month when I picked up the Grind magazine at my Fav Franchise cafe Zarraffa, I found out that there is Bellabox.com.au.  So immediately that weekend I decided to sign up to my first beauty box subscription.
Finally last Monday this arrived at my work:

I have read reviews where people been complaining about how their Bellabox been damaged during mailing.  Luckily for me, I received an email from Aus post on the previous Friday that it is coming and I received it on the next working day.  Guess that is one of the benefit of living in metro area.

This month Bellabox's theme is Come Fly With Me featuring Jetstar.
Unfortunately, it was not written that if you scan the QR code, you will get reward points credited to your Bellabox account.  I actually read it on a blog and managed to scan and get my bonus reward point.

Revealing the Box

The scent of the Apelles Rosemary Body Bar greeted me as I open the box.  May Bellabox products' descriptions:

1. Appelles Rosemary Bodybar  Full size RRP $5.95

Love: the smell, hydrates and contains certified organic ingredients (Australian essential oils Blue Mallee Eucalyptus, Niaouli, Rosemary & Lemon Myrtle).  Paraben free too.

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel Sample size valued at ~$12.50

Love: clear coloured, tames brows, and contains botanical conditioners and essential oils
At the same token not everyone's brows need taming.

3. Chapstick Moisturiser Green Apple with limited edition tin Full size RRP $3.99 and $8.99

Love: Soften and moisturises, sweet apple scent and SPF 15
Bonus tin has a nice design but not exactly something that I will buy and used, at least not at $8.99

4. Wen by Chaz Dean Sweet Almond Mint cleansing conditioner Sample size valued at $8

Most controversial products I received in this Bellabox.  I read a lot of reviews about this American product.  People either love it or hate it.  After trying the sample, I drew the following conclusion:
Love: minty smell, refreshing sensation from the mint, leaves no residue on my scalp after rinsing well, surprisingly cleanse really well.  U used the same products for shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner.  Great for a Lazy person - one products for 3 uses and they even ship to your home.
Downsides: pricey, gave my hair too much volume and make it a bit fizzy.  If you like your bubbles while shampooing, then you may not like this product as it gives u no bubble at all.

5. Yes To Grapefruit Daily Facial Scrub Sample size

It claims to leave your skin brighter, clearer and more radiant. Formulated with Grapefruit Extract, rich in vitamins and antioxidants, to ward off free radicals and minimize skin discoloration as well as Lemon Balm Extract, a natural anti-bacterial to ease skin irritations.
Love: Fruity smell, gentle small beads, cleanse well
Unfortunately, the sample size is only enough for one use.  Really can’t tell whether it actually works to make your skin brighter and more radiant.

Yes To Grapefruit Dark Spot Erasing Serum Sample size
Claims to visibly reduce facial imperfections, making your skin firmer, brighter and more even-toned. Formulated with Mulberry Fruit, White Tea and Grapefruit extracts to restore damaged skin cells, fade acne spots, lighten spots and inhibit future darkening. Darkout (a.k.a. African Star Grass) equalizes and evens skin tone, making skin brighter and more radiant. Yes to a flawless, fabulous, face Lighten the appearance of dark spots in 4 weeks.

Love: Non-greasy, soften skin and moisturize well
Again a product that claims to work in 4 weeks time will not show any result in just 2 applications.  The smell is definitely not as nice as the Scrub and the serum color is a greenish yellow.

So there you go my first Bellabox.  $39.43 value for $15.  Guess it is not bad if you are keen to try something new and especially if all the products in the box are something you can use.
